I'm doing some search for a friend. Her Grandfather is said to be Edward James Flanigan, born Canada, her Grandmother, Mary Pauline Anderson whose family they say was from Minnesota. According to the friend her Mother had had 2 step sisters and 1 step brother surname May, as Mary Pauline Anderson had been married to ? LaMay prior and had children Ann, Hazel, Vivian and George. At some point the La was dropped and they went by May. Hazel married a Songstad and besides what shows in the 1930 census are said to have had more children, Dean and Sheldon. Hazel died sometime around the birth of the last child. 1930 South Dakota, Minnehaha, Sioux Falls District 53 Address looks like 1725 E 4 Russell to me. Songstad All??? Allen maybe? It is enumerated 21 January, 1920 South Dakota, Minnehaha, Sioux Falls ED#184 Looks like Nesmith Ave ?? Flamagan Ed Head 2-there is no dwelling number so I take that to mean since it says Head-2 that the house number is 615 with two families living at that address. They appear to be in a household with Quigley Rober who is 75 Married and b. Ohio, father born Ireland and mother b.Scot, he's retired Quigley Helen Wife is 62 Married b. Wisconsin, parents b. Pennsylvania and she's an Agent Can't make out the next name ?horson Albert Roomer M W 23 Single b. US parents b. Us and Laborer Packing house Rogers no first name Roomer M W age and marital status can read think it says un for unknown, b. Us also laborer packing house Next is Flamagan Ed Head 2 M W 50 M says he and parents born NS (note that would be Nova Scotia I assume) and he's a carpenter Flannagan Mary Wife F W 38 M 1889 Na born Sweden, parents born Sweden May no clue what the name is but think it might be Hannah Roomer F W 18 Single b. Sweden I am confused by the difference in spelling even in Ed and Mary entry, also by the Flannagan children being listed as STEP children? I haven't been able to find them in 1930 but considering the name is found on one index online as Flamagan, Ed so hard telling how it is in other indexes. For my friend, I would appreciate hearing from anyone who might have knowledge of this family. I haven't found a death/burial for Edward, Mary or the daughter Hazel.
