Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/0gB.2ACI/270 Message Board Post: Attention Norwegian-Americans: The combined Norwegian-American organizations of Gudbrandsdalslag, Nord Hedmark og Hedemarken and Trønderlag will hold their annual "Tre Lag Stevne" in Fargo, North Dakota this year from August 3-6 at the Ramada Plaza Suites and Conference Center. The stevne (gathering) will include genealogy labs and research assistance with all the resources of the bygdelags (organizations): books, films, maps, family histories. There will be multiple seminars on genealogical, cultural and historical Norwegian-American topics. The program includes a tour to settlement areas of Norwegian emigrants in Richland County, North Dakota, a visit to the Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead, Norwegian food and music. There will also be a "pitchfork fondue", Norwegian craft demonstrations and vendors. Those planning a visit to Norway in the future might want to take advantage of the opportunity to learn a little of the Norwegian language in a Saturday seminar. And, of course, there will be the opportunity to visit with others who share an interest in Norwegian heritage. The stevne is open to the public although advance registration is requested. Tours and meals must be reserved in advance.
