With immigrants, try looking for a religious newspaper, or an ethnic newspaper. They often have better obits than do the larger city newspapers. Also, small town weeklies also may have a better obit. When stymied with place of immigration, check birth and death certificates of all the kids. Sometimes they'll include birthplace of parents. It is also a good place to (sometimes at least), pick up the maiden name of mothers. Karen
