Dated Monday, January 27, 1997 Leonard Pike Leonard D. Pike, 85, formerly of rural Sioux Falls, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, at the Good Samaritan Luther Manor in Sioux Falls. Services begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Harrisburg United Methodist Church in Harrisburg. Visitation begins at noon Tuesday at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. A public Masonic service begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Dated Tuesday, January 28, 1997 Leonard Pike Leonard D. Pike, 85, of 26938 Cliff Ave., a retired farmer, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, at the Good Samaritan Luther Manor. Mr. Pike was born Nov. 30, 1911, in rural Sioux Falls. He graduated from Harrisburg High School and attended Sioux Falls College. He married Elsie Ross June 7, 1942, in Sioux Falls. They lived on the Loonan Dairy Farm. Six years later, they moved to the farm where he was born. He continued to farm until his retirement. He became a resident of Luther Manor in 1993. He was a member of the Harrisburg United Methodist Church. He was a member and past master of the Masonic Lodge, and was a member and past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. He served as director on the Federal Land Bank Board, the Farmers Union Oil Company Board, the Sioux Valley Milk Producer’s Board, the Harrisburg Elevator board, and the Harrisburg Board of Education. In addition to his wife, survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Linnette) Sandine of rural Sioux Falls; two grandchildren; and two sisters: LaVonne Jensen of Sun City, Ariz.; and Maxine Harvey of Mesa, Ariz. Services begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrisburg United Methodist Church, with burial in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Harrisburg. Visitation begins at noon today at the George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, with the family present today following a 7 p.m. Masonic service at the funeral home.
