Death certificates were required from mid-1905, so there's a 50 - 50 chance there would be a death certificate of E. V. (Edward?) SD Births: Ed DHABOLT & Gertie ERICKSON had Minnie Edna, b. 3 Feb. 1901; Wm. Henry DHABOLT & Nellie Jane TRUMBULL had Lloyd Edward, b. 17 Aug. 1899, both in Minnehaha County. FamilySearch database of the 1880 Census, Liberty, Lucas, Iowa: DHABOLT, Christopher, 49, b. France; wf. Catherine, 47, b. Germany; two sons b. IN: Jacob, 25, & John, 21; ch. b. Iowa: George, 18; Mealy, 12 (female, Amelia?); Edward, 10; William, 8; Mary, 5, & Frances, 2 (female). Note that the above family had both Edward, b. ca. 1870, & William, b. ca. 1872, the right ages to be having children ca. 1900. Edward's age, 10, makes his birth a year before the year on the grave record for E. V., but it's close. I checked for land patents, but I don't see any for DHABOLT in Minnehaha County. Do you think that Edward or William was the father of Blanche? Perhaps you could get the 1900 or 1910 Census to see whether Blanche was with one of them.
