Do you know the name of the person who died? Do you mean that he died in the township or city of Dell Rapids? Have you checked whether there is a death certificate? Those began mid-1905, with some registered earlier. In order to have somebody search, you usually need the exact date of death because most obituaries are not indexed. Have you looked for church records?
