Since I posted that message, I received a response from an 84 year old child of Nellie Schooler (married to Fred Schooler) who lives in Canada. I sent a letter to him (not knowing if he was the correct Schooler or not) and he responded with a phone call. He was a delightful man, and he said I may call him back when I want to talk more!
