The one with the most complete story is Robert McCORMICK, who married Mary _ in Feb. 1906, and left Egan, Moody Co., SD, to homestead five miles southeast of what is now Vivian, SD. Robert's two brothers, Will & Frank, and sister Rose also had claims. Robert McCORMICK & Mary had Roy (Nov. 1906 - ca.1969), Henrietta (1908 - _, who m. Millard HARVEY [20 Jan. 1906 - 22 July 1992]) , and Ruth (5 May 1909 - Nov. 1989) who m. Elwyn MOWRY (4 S 1908 - Sept.1986, Vivian). Ruth provided the history. Mary's parents came from Norway to Minnesota. Mary was eldest of nine children and didn't speak English until she was nine years old. Robert McCORMICK's grandparents came from Ireland and Scotland (?) to Minnesota and then to Dakota Territory. One brother was probably Frank David McCORMICK, b. 27 Aug. 1878, Moody Co., SD, son of Robert McCORMICK & Mary McCAULLEY. The elder Robert is the only McCORMICK listed on land patents of Moody County, 1883 & 1888, Twp. 107 - 49, Secs. 34 SE & 35 SW. FamilySearch database of the 1880 Census, Twp. 107, Moody, Dakota: MCCORMICK: Robert, 48; wf. Mary, 41, they & parents all b. Ireland. Children all b. It will be easier for somebody to help if you will name a specific married couple and their vital statistics and whatever you have about their parents and/or children. Remember the W's: who, what, when, where (& sometimes why).
