SD Brand books list a G.T. Stephenson with a brand of TS, which I think is him, as he went by Terry Stephenson. Address given is Interior. He was still in eastern SD in the 1920 census, but appears in the 1940s and 50s in the brand books. (I haven't found an earlier brand book, and the 1930 census isn't available until April 2002) BLM land records list 1/2 section bought by Smith Stephenson in 1909.(Terry had a brother named Smith), T.2S, R.18E, S.18. A half-section isn't much of a ranch in those parts, but maybe Terry ran a few cattle or horses on his brother's half-section... Also, Terry never married, so no kids to follow up on.

Hello List, I am new to your list and trying to locate info on the Frank Cummings family that lived in Kadoka during the early 1900's. Frank and Viola Cummings had four children: Robert J. Clifford C. Lyle F. female.....name unknown. Birth probably about 1910. Family story is that when she was a young girl, about age 12-14 she was killed in an accident. One elderly family thinks this young Cummings girl was 'killed when hit by a car'. Another remembers something about 'an accident when going down a hill'. We have not been able to find the name of this female or any details concerning her death. Does anyone have access to a death index or cemetery listings for the Kadoka area. Very good chances she was buried in Catholic Cemetery. Any help on church names or/and cemetery names will be appreciated. Does Kadoka have a city clerk or would the records be at the county seat....and where might that be? Family info is that this family lived in Kodaka.....but the above children were possibly born in Westover, SD. I do not know if this is a town or a county. Could not find Westover on my map. Is there a Westover now or has there ever been in the Kadoka area? Thank you for your help. Peggy [email protected]
