This is what I know about her, but who knows how much of it is truth and how much is legend.... she was an orphan and was raised by Catholic nuns on a reservation. They also educated her. In her lifetime, she was married to a few different men. Her first husband had the last name of Runsclosetovillage. He and her two oldest children died of some illness (small pox?) only she and the baby lived... Gladys Runsclosetovillage. From there she got a job as a teacher on a reservation in South Dakota. Then she married Patrick Harrington (an Irish man fleeing the law) and had Maxie, Manuel (Uncle Manny) and my Grandma Gertrude Marie Harrington. After Mr. Harrington died, they went on to the Detroit Michigan area. My grandmother, my mother and I are all members of the Lac Courte Orielles tribe in Wisconsin. This is where she came from. I also thought that her maiden name wa! s Homesky. Please write to me at my e-mail address [email protected] for more information. Your story is strange and I'd like to figure it out. My Mother knows more details about names and dates and places than I do. I hope to hear from you soon. MaraLee Richardson

I have a birth Certifercate for her and it has been doctered. I need to find out who this birth certifercate actually belonged to. the last name is Harrington, born to Patrick Harrinton and Martha wettenhall. The name of the child says Maxine harrington but it is obvious that there was another name under hers at one time. Another thing about it is it says mother age at time of birth was 29, but she was only 27 when my grandmother was born. I was finally able to find them in the 1920 census and it says... Patric H. Harrington age 53 head Charles Harrington age 19 son Martha Blume age 28 servent Maine (Maxine) Blume 1/2 Boarder Gladys Runsclose 7 Boarder As u can see from there it is obvious that patrick was not her father, I believe Luis Blume might have been. I am not sure what to do, or where i can go to to find out this information Thank you Dawn
