I have found several records about these people. >From the South Dakota Marriage Index Opal L. Pope married Henry D. Engstrom 1 Jul 1909 in custer County SD. Opal was only 15, Henry was 27. 1910 census Henry and Opal Engstrom are in Custer SD. He was born in Sweden. South Dakota Death Index Henry Engstrom died 24 Aug 1915 Custer SD. This is probably Opal's husband SD Marriage Index Opal Engstrom age 23 married Wilber Stewart age 21 on 24 May 1919. Wilber's WW I draft registration indicates he was born on 12 Aug 1897 in Iowa. 1920 census Opal Stewart is married and living in a boarding house in Rapid city. Her husband is not with her. 1930 census I found Edward and Robert Engstrom with Cordelia Pope in Custer SD. I have not yet found any further trace of Opal and Wilber. The most interesting thing I found was an obituary for Robert online at Ancestry. He died in 2004 in Montana at the age of 90. Here is just a bit of the obituary published 14 Jan 2004 in the Billings Gazette: Robert L. 'Bob' Engstrom Tuesday, January 13, 2004 SUNDANCE - Funeral services for Sundance resident Robert L. "Bob" Engstrom, 90, will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, Jan. 13, in Fidler-Roberts and Isburg Funeral Chapel in Sundance by the Rev. Ed Bollack. Burial will be at noon in Black Hills National Cemetery, near Sturgis, S.D., with full military honors accorded by Sturgis Honor Guard. He died Jan. 9, 2004, at Crook County Memorial Nursing Home in Sundance. Born July 31, 1913, in Terraville, S.D., he was the son of Henry and Opal (Pope) Engstrom; was raised in Custer, S.D.; Let me know if you can't access the rest of it and if so I will email it to you.
