It was a civilian fort located near Hermosa about 1890 to 1892 during the Ghost Dance uprising. I believe it was the home of my great grandfather, John Looney BUCKINGHAM, who also owned the J. L. BUCKINGHAM general store in Hermosa about 1885 to 1887. I have a photograph of the store.
