    3. My great grandfather was killed in Pleasant Valley, Custer, South Dakota in May, 1876, when he and a group of men were jumped by Indians. John Hunter, better known as Pony Hunter, was the first man killed and buried there. Supposedly there are accounts of this battle - Battle for Spring on the Hill - "Black Hills Trails". I am interested in knowing what happened to my John's body. Is he still buried there somewhere, or was he buried in a local cemetery? I am also interested in knowing what happened to a man named Coyer who was also a member of this party. He was shot, but died in Custer a couple of days later. I woud appreciate any information on either of these two men. Carol
