In response to David Edwards:I looked Alfred, NY up on the map. My Fitz Randolphs moved from Piscataway, NJ to NY and my gr. gr.grandfather, Horace Fitz Randolph was born 11 Jan 1815, Oneida Co., NY. I noticed especially, the given name Horace. He is the only Horace I have found in all my ancestors and I wondered if he might have been named for someone who was active in the church. But your grandfather was born much later, and in Allegany Co. so my premise may still be OK but we don't know, do we? I ,too, would like to read a history of the growth and development of the church and its members. My Randolphs moved from NY to Lenawee Co., Mich. then to northern Indiana, in Elkhart Co. That is where my Horace died and my gr. grandfather grew up. If you find any material that answers any of our questions, I would appreciate hearing from you.
