    1. The Baptist BONHAMs of New Jersey
    2. Hi People! I'm a descendant of Hezekiah Bonham, the man back in Piscataway, NJ, who caused such a ruckus in the local church there because of his 7th-Day Baptist leanings. I wonder whether anyone out there has more details on the story than I do or any corrections to offer. What I understand is that Old Hez got arrested by his brother-in-law, preacher Edmund Dunham, for working on Sunday. Hez's argument was that Sunday was only the first day of the week and that the Lord should be worshiped on Saturday, the seventh day. He managed to convince his brother-in-law of the Scriptural accuracy of what he was saying. Only problem was -- the controversy ended up splitting the Piscataway church down the middle. Neighbors in surrounding areas took to calling the place "Quibbletown" because of the church argument. And from what I understand, there's still a school there named "Quibbletown Junior High," or some such, in memory of Old Hez and Brother-in-law Edmund. Doris Stanford in Colorado
