    3. "The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 58, No 4, p 63, Jan. 27, 1902. Mrs. Lydia Mumford Rogers, daughter of Jonathan and Lucy Stebbins Rogers, and wife of the late Peleg H. Maxson, was born in Waterford, Conn., Aug. 4, 1820, and died near Rock River, Wis., Jan. 12, 1902. October 7, 1837, when she was seventeen years of age, she was baptized by Eld. Lester T. Rogers, pastor of the Waterford Seventh-day Baptist church. Since moving West she has made no change in church relations, but has continued to maintain the observance of the Sabbath of her ancestors who have been Sabbath-keepers back to the old Seventh-day Baptist church of Newport, R. I., organized in 1671. December 18, 1839, she was married to Peleg H. Maxson, of Hopkinton, R. I. To them were born two sons, with the younger of whom she has been cared for in her declining years. She was a loving companion, a kind neighbor and friendly to all. She now rests from her labors, and her good works and kind words follow her. L. T.
