"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 39, No 45, p 8, Nov. 8, 1883. At his home in Jackson Township, Shelby Co., Ohio, Oct. 23, 1883, Jeptha M. Davis, in the 68th year of his age. Uncle Jeptha came to this country in an early day; was one of the first settlers. He was a good citizen, and a kind husband and father. He had a family of eight children, six of whom had gone before him to the eternal world. He leaves a wife and two children, with many relatives and friends, to mourn their loss. Jeptha made a profession of religion when a young man. At death he expressed himself as having a hope in the Saviour, and being ready to go. J. L. H.
