    3. I've been trying to figure out how I can possibly present my information about my SDB roots in a way that's clear, and have come to the conclusion that these roots are so tangled it will be impossible! But I'll do my best anyway, please bear with me. I'll start with the Davis line and try to show how the other lines tie in. 1. The Baptist BONHAMs of New Jersey
    2. Hi People! I'm a descendant of Hezekiah Bonham, the man back in Piscataway, NJ, who caused such a ruckus in the local church there because of his 7th-Day Baptist leanings. I wonder whether anyone out there has more details on the story than I do or any corrections to offer. What I understand is that Old Hez got arrested by his brother-in-law, preacher Edmund Dunham, for working on Sunday. Hez's argument was that Sunday was only the first day of the week and that the Lord should be worshiped on Saturday, the seventh day. He managed to convince his brother-in-law of the Scriptural accuracy of what he was saying. Only problem was -- the controversy ended up splitting the Piscataway church down the middle. Neighbors in surrounding areas took to calling the place "Quibbletown" because of the church argument. And from what I understand, there's still a school there named "Quibbletown Junior High," or some such, in memory of Old Hez and Brother-in-law Edmund. Doris Stanford in Colorado

    3. With names like those, you are definitely in the right place (=: My Davis is Sara DAVIS, who married Daniel Reed BURDICK. Sara was born 26 Oct. 1820 in Brookfield, Madison Co., NY and died 5 Feb 1903 in Albion, Dane Co. WI. The child I'm aware of is Hannah Almira Burdick (guess they didn't think there were enough Hannah Burdicks yet :). Hannah's husband, Jesse Saunders GREEN, was born in Milton, Rock Co., WI You haven't seen anything on this Sara in your DAVIS book, have you? Economic losses and disruptions, new territory, and military roads through the mountains encouraged many to seek new homes on the frontier. One patriot from Piscataway was Samuel Fitz Randolph who was commissioned an ensign in the Second Regiment of Sussex County. His contacts and travels in this capacity influenced the migration of Seventh Day Baptists from Piscataway and Shrewsbury They fol- lowed a military road through the Allegheny Mountains to Woodbridgetown, Pennsylvania, before moving south to western Virginia where the Shrewsbury church was reestab- lished as the Salem Seventh Day Baptist Church in 1792""

    3. Hello, my name is Sandra Konigmacher and I am researching descendants of Adam Konigmacher who came to Philly in 1749 from Gimbsheim, Germany. Adam joined up with the German Seventh Day Baptist Society at Ephrata, Lancaster county PA. The family stayed there 5 generations until 1900s then converted to Seventh Day Adventistism. I am new to this type of research and still unclear on exact differences between Seventh Day Baptists, Dunkers/COB, and related sects. I also had family at the Snow Hill Cloister in Franklin Co., PA. (Fahnestocks) I have some material collected during the last few months; cemetery manifests for Ephrata Cloister and Mt. Zion, also misc. materials on the Cloister history. I am also looking for information on a settlement called the Bermudian, in York Co. (I think) where Adam Konigmacher may have spent his early years.--s konigmacher <<[email protected]>>

    3. Seeking more info on ancestor Duty Jarrer GREEN/E, born 22 Jan 1802 in Brookfield, Madison Co, NY. Duty's family (parents Joseph GREEN/E and Mary LEWIS) moved to Alfred and can be found in the Alfred membership books. Duty married in 1825 Mary Grinman COON (daughter of Stephen COON and Sarah STILLMAN) and moved to Dane Co., WI where he died in 1892. Also seeking more information on Sara DAVIS, who married ancestor Daniel Reed BURDICK (who as you might imagine has been a little easier to research!). Sara was born 26 October 1820 in Brookfield and died in 1903 in Dane Co., WI. Thanks! Audrey Bennett [email protected] Bellevue, WA USA
