1. [SD-FREEDMEN] Freedmen Project-----Miller App's Update
2. Hello everyone, In the next few weeks to come, I will be posting some of the larger Miller Applications. I say larger because they include info not usally found in the prior Miller Applications. Some will include letters with the following info written on them. TREASURY WARRANTS REAL ESTATE RECORDS- BOUGHT AND SOLD FARM LOANS AGRICULTURE LEASES OIL LEASES I don't really understand why the letters were written on this particular LETTER HEADING. It seems to be basic letters like other Miller App's contain, but again the LETTER HEADING has really thrown me off. I will have to leave it to more educated minds then my own, to figure it out. I would however appreciate anything anyone can tell me about these type records. I know after posting it, I will be bombarded with questions I can't answer. I guess my biggest question is, why would the applicant be writing on these LETTER HEADS at all? At any rate, I am about to type up the first one and will try and have it ready either late tonight or early morning for you all to look at. Bright Star Freedmen Project

1. [SD-FREEDMEN] Happy Birthday to the Rev. Martin Luther King - gone but not forgotten
2. MIDI music for Martin Luther King Day - January 15, 2001 http://www.stceliascorner.com/mlk.html We Shall Overcome We shall overcome, we shall overcome We shall overcome some day Oh deep in my heart, I do believe That we shall overcome some day We'll walk hand in hand, we'll walk hand in hand We'll walk hand in hand some day Oh deep in my heart, I do believe That we shall overcome some day We shall live in peace, we shall live in peace We shall live in peace some day Oh deep in my heart, I do believe That we shall overcome some day We shall brothers be, we shall brothers be We shall brothers be some day Oh deep in my heart, I do believe That we shall overcome some day The truth shall make us free, truth shall make us free The truth shall make us free some day Oh deep in my heart, I do believe That we shall overcome some day We are not afraid, we are not afraid We are not afraid today Oh deep in my heart, I do believe That we shall overcome some day Lift every voice and sing, till earth and heaven ring, Ring with the harmonies of liberty; Let our rejoicing rise, high as the listening skies, Let it resound loud as the rolling sea. Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us, Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us; Facing the rising sun of our new day begun, Let us march on till victory is won. Stony the road we trod, bitter the chastening rod, Felt in the days when hope unborn had died; Yet with a steady beat, have not our weary feet, Come to the place for which our fathers sighed? We have come over a way that with tears has been watered, We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered; Out from the gloomy past, till now we stand at last Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast. God of our weary years, God of our silent tears, Thou Who hast brought us thus far on the way; Thou Who hast by Thy might, led us into the light, Keep us forever in the path, we pray. Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee. Lest our hearts, drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee. Shadowed beneath Thy hand, may we forever stand, True to our God, true to our native land.
