Pat, I have a sheet of the holdings of the State Archives microfilms for York County. One of the listings (this was probably in the late 1970s or early 1980s) reads, and I quote: Office: Records of the Court of General Sessions Series Dates Roll# 1. Bastardy Bonds and Papers 1838-1928 C2105 unquote. I ordered that particular roll-C2105- and was told that it was not available. When I inquired further I was told that this microfilm did not exist. Another person told me (unofficially and not in writing) that the bastardy bonds were objected to by a member of the legislature and that was why they were not available. For this last statement I cannot vouch. But I do know that I received the microfilm number from the archives and have it with its attending information in front of me as I type.
