James, Culbert Means Laney was my GG-maternal Grandfather. He was born `1782 in Antrim, PA (Cumberland County) and moved (along with his parents and siblings) to York County, SC as a child and was raised there. In 1811 he moved to what is now Simpson County, KY. His father was John Laney who was the son of Joseph Laney (born in Ireland). Culbert had a son named William Laney, and also a brother named William Laney. If this is the Laney lineage you are researching, let me know and I'll send you everything that I have on this line. If your brother, Rudy, is also working on this line please give him my e-mail address. Have a happy and safe 4th of July, Bill Sanders Spring, Texas [email protected] James Laney wrote: >Bill, > I am also interested in the Laney's in the early 1800's.
