    3. Larry, I am not in any way related to Hamiltons but once assisted another researcher in locating some Hamiltons and they appear to be among the ones you seek. I am omitting that person's name and communication here because I am not sure that he/she would care for it to be shared. What is left is my research notes. I hope they help you. Louise Pettus Hamilton 1810 Census: Patrick Hamilton- 1 male 26-45, 2 slaves York County Estate Papers. William Hamilton returned settlement of estate of David Hamilton, dec’d for 1802. Receipts from Jean Hamilton, John Hamilton, James Hamilton, Thomas Hamilton, Alexander Hamilton, David Hamilton, Jr. Catharine Hamilton and Elizabeth Hamilton, legatees. Nov 9, 1802. York County Estate Papers, Case 53, File 2320. 1808: Estate of David Hamilton. Implied that wife was Jean Boggs, widow of Joseph Boggs (York County Marriages 1770-1869-Implied in York County, SC Probate Records by Barbara R. Langdon. History of Presbyterian Church by George Howe, p. 150. Thomas Hamilton of York, summary: Born July 4, 1759 at Little York, Penn. of Scotch father. Moved to York District, SC. At age 16 enlisted in Revolutionary War. Fought for 7 years. Furnished own horse and most of the time received no compensation except $28.00 as a wagon master. Served under Gen. Thomas Sumter and Col. Wade Hampton. In battles: Cowpens, Blackstock, Six Mile House (near Charleston) and the three week’s siege of Ninety-Six. Settled in Anderson District. Elder of Carmel Church. Died May 2, 1853,aged 93 years and 10 months. Wife Ann. David A. Hamilton Deed to William White, Sr., 27 Sept. 1852 (York County Clerk of Court as Register of Mesne Conveyance Book S, pp. 876-77. David A. Hamilton to William White for $3405 on Landsford Road...to stake on corporation line on Pinckney Road...340 1/2 acres...Also Rebecca C. Hamilton, wife of David A. Hamilton relinquishes her claim to William White, Sr. Witnesses William Mills (Marshall Co, Miss.); John W. Logan. Recorded Sept 7, 1863 I find Hamiltons did live near the Broad River in York County and that there is, or was, a road called Hamilton Ford Road that let to the Broad River in the southwestern corner of York County. The township is called Bullocks Creek. In a small history of Bullocks Creek, Jerry West mentions the following Hamiltons: David Hamilton: p. 5--On July 31, 1847 the church [Bullocks Creek Presbyterian] sold 560 acres to John G. Davidson...and to David Hamilton, 55 acres lying on Pinckney Road and Love's Ford Road was conveyed for $275.00. York County Deeds, Book O, p. 176. p. 46--[about the Post Office at Bullocks Creek]. . .David Hamilton was appointed Postmaster, March 19, 1850 and the following year was replaced by John G. Davidson. J. D. Hamilton: p. 31--J. D. Hamilton of Bullocks Creek served as a committeman on the Democratic Executive Committee which met at the courthouse in Yorkville. . . .275 registered voters. [The year was 1884.] Robert W. Hamilton: p. 46--Robert W. Hamilton (1849-1892) was appointed post master of the Gould Post Office which was located near Dry Creek on Hamilton's Ford Road (Pinckney Road). [Appointed Dec. 20, 1888] p. 83:--Listed as a member of the jury in a murder case, Nov. 1886. William Hamilton: p. 34--William Hamilton, 1808-1882, signed a petition... ______ July Court, Yorkville, 1786. John Hamilton was indicted for contempt of court. 1786, James Hamilton served on a jury in Yorkville. April Court, 1787, Minute Book A, Alexander and Jane Hamilton vs. Thomas and Samuel Carson. October Intermediate Court, 1791: Ordered that James Ditty be appointed Guardian of Rebecca Hamilton, an Orphan & that he enter into bond of 50 pounds with good security.
