Linda, Do you know anything of Alexander Stewart's family in Ireland? His parents or brothers and sisters? I have Walter Stewart, b. about 1750 in County Antrim (?) supposedly of a family of weavers. There may be a Clark connection in his family. Family tradition has it that he intended to go to Philadephia, but his ship was blown off course and he ended up in Charleston, SC. He lived for many years in Laurens County, SC and then removed to Gwinnett County, GA where he died in 1823. His sons (no daughters) were named Samuel, John, Robert, James, Walter Jr., Clark Berry, and David Bobo Stewart.
