Seeking information on the BOYD families of York County. My 3rd great grandfather was Robert Boyd b. 1805 in South Carolina ( most likely York County ). He bought 153 acres on the Catawba River from a Thomas Boyd. The deed was recorded 05 March 1832, in York Cty. I have a copy of a will for a Thomas Boyd probated 07 May 1838, which states Thomas had a son named Robert, but I am not sure if it is my Robert. The 1850 York Cty. Census has Robert( my 3rd g. grandfather) listed with his wife Elizabeth and their children. Sarah Elimina Mary Roxanna Robert Franklin ( my 2Nd great grandfather) Daniel William Worth In 1853, Robert sold the 153 acres to James Glenn. He bought land in Gaston County, NC, in 1853 and lived there until his death in 1881.
