My interest in Bethesda Presbyterian Church stems from a record at Fishing Creek Presbyterian Church in Chester Co. dated 24 Jan 1802 which says that Alexander McGahie (McGaughey) from Bethesda produced a certificate signed by John Murphy, Elder, stating that he had received privileges and his character was good. He was received by Fishing Creek Presbyterian Church. Alexander's wife was Elizabeth Brakefield. Were any Brakefields buried in the Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery?
