Anyone out there researching the Thomas Sparks-Catherine Swaime family? They were natives of Surry County, NC and married there in 1837.Thomas Sparks was born 25 Dec 1816 and died 23 Nov 1863 and Catharine Swaime was born 11 April 1816, death date unknown. Her youngest child was born in 1851. It is believed that they moved to York County in the early 1840s. They lived at the railroad stop called Catawba, south of Rock Hill. The Children: Solomon, Michael, William Ashley, John Calvin, Adeline Josephine and Martha Ellen. My direct ancestor is Adeline Josephine who married Marion DeKalb Rodgers. There was a relationship to the Sweat/Swett family but exactly what it was I cannot say. Happy to exchange information. Louise Pettus.
