On that Saturday, May 28th, the Church near Whitaker Mountain became Mount Paran Church. [Note, the town of Grover (a few miles to the East) was formerly known as Whitaker when it was part of South Carolina]. Baptisms were usually held at the conclusion of the meetings in Buffalo Creek at Moore's Mill. Mt. Paran Church (where the Martin family reunion is held each year) is approx one mile from the old hidden Martin cemetary (now southern Cleveland Co. NC). The cemetery is in a grove of trees about 1000 feet behind the house. Jeff
