Now this may be far fetched, but here goes. My great great grandparents; Commadore Perry Smith and his wife Mary (Lamberson) Smith resided in Pike county about 1850. In the 1850 census they are listed with four children;Eliza J; Frances Mary; Commadore Perry, and an infant daughter listed as being 1/12 year old. Now the census was taken August 17,1850. Now if your Lavinia was born on July 8, l850, that would put her one month old on census day. Could we possibly connect? Jan Children of William McElwee and Isabelle Mills are: 23 i.
