This info comes from "The Patriots at Kings Mountain", a book by Bobby Gilmer Moss. Frederick Hambright was born May 17, 1727 in Germany and migrated to PA in oct. 1738. About 1755 he moved to VA and married Sarah Hardin. They moved to NC abt. 1760 and settled near the South Fork River. He began military service abt. 1776 and did command as a Lt. Col. at the battle of Kings Mtn. where he was seriously wounded in the thigh. Sarah, one of six children, married Peter Eaker. Col. Hambright's second wife,Sophia Mary Dover, was born Aug. 15, 1781, the daughter of John Dover. Col. Hambright and Sophia had seven children. Hope this helps.
