Unfortunately, SC did not record marriages until July 1, 1911 and then only in counties until July 1, 1950 at which time the state recorded them. Newspapers possibly reported the marriage. Published in those years were the Yorkville Enquirer, the Rock Hill Herald, The Record (Rock Hill) and the Fort Mill Times. I am not positive but it is likely that the Clover Herald was published. It is unlikely that there was a church record of a marriage. Most marriages were in the home and not in a church and, in any case, if in the church was not usually recorded. An exception would be the Rev. James Henley Thornwell, Presbyterian minister, who kept a personal journal that included marriages. He was pastor at both Unity in Fort Mill and Ebenezer near Rock Hill. Joe Hart of York, now deceased, placed copies of lists of marriages (and deaths) that he found in various sources, in the York County Library (Rock Hill) and its branch in York. Also, his genealogical records and other collections are in the Historical Center of York County in York. It may be possible to find the record you seek there: Historical Center of York County 212 E.
