    3. Dear Deborah: I am a descendant of JAMES AKIN and SUSANNAH SWAN. We believe the father of JAMES AKIN was WILLIAM AKIN who died about 1816 in York County, South Carolina. The information we have found shows that WILLIAM AKIN (EAKIN) married MRS. ELIZABETH WISHER (a widow). Could this ELIZABETH be the daughter of JOHN PATTERSON? We have been unable to determine her maiden name. Please let me hear from you. 3. Dear Deborah: James Akin was born about 1770/1780 in Tyron County, NC. He died in Van Buren County, AR, before 1850. He married Susannah Swan in Livingston, KY, 27 July 1805. Susannah was born 1787 in York County, SC, and died before 1860 in Van Buren County, AR. Their son Samuel C. Akin was born 1818 in Independence County, AR. He first married Satilla Jane Griggs in 1839 in Van Buren County, AR; second marriage in 1854 to Mary McAlister. There are not many persons named Lorene so that is a real coincidence. Let me hear from you.
