    3. LOUISE, I will try to locate that article in the Georgia Journal then. I appreciate you and John's help. Do you by chance know if the York Co. Hist. Soc. has any information on the John Houser b.1788 in York and his wife Nancy? They had a daughter that married a James Noble. On a couple of webpages I saw the daughter listed as Kathy, but there were few Kathy's back in those days. On deeds and census she is listed with James Noble as Cyntha/Cynthia. I am in hopes of finding something on John Houser b.1788 with daughter Cynthia. If you have an index of some kind, can you give me Vol. numbers etc. and I will see if we have that Journal at the Dallas Library next time I go. Anything might help. 3. Kathy, John Blythe may have hit upon the answer. Mrs. Maddox would have been a former director of the Historical Center of York County. I forgot that her name was once Mrs. Maddox and thought of her as Iva Jean Sherman (faulty memory--I'm not quite senile but moving in that direction). So, Olin Jackson, who wrote the article for the North Georgia group may have credited Mrs. Maddox and confused the two names--Historical Center with Historical Society. Houser is certainly a York County name and think that it is mostly associated with western York County around Kings Mountain, Hickory Grove and Smyrna.
