It seems we are getting our information from the same source. The Bible was in the possesion of my grandfather Elijah Nathaniel "Nat" Parker and our family until after the death of my grandmother. Unfortunately, it is missing, and as far as we can determine, not in the possesion of any immediate family members. If you know of any information about an extended family member who might have the Bible, we would appreciate knowing it. It was passed down from generation to generation since Thomas Barton Parker, and then to his son Thomas B., Jr., and to my grandfather Nat Parker. If you would rather e-mail me directly, I am shepherdman55@cs.com. I look forward to hearing from you soon. James Parker

The birth day is correct, but the year and spelling are wrong. This is what I posted on the Parker list. Do you have this Parker book referenced at the end of this transmission? Are you tracing Mary House? William and Mary House Parker were married in 1806 and lived in a rural section not far from the Broad River in York County or District, South Carolina. William was born about 1775 and died in 1826 when he became embroiled in a fight with three men at his (legal) still. Mary was born about 1790 and died about 1875 or 76. William and Mary House Parker were the parents of: Davis H. Parker - December 14, 1807 - 1831 John J. Right? I am descended from Thomas Barton Parker, Thomas B. Parker, Jr., Elijah Nathaniel Parker, James Thomas Parker. I have very little verifiable information on William. At this point I have some names of people that could be William's parents. I have some copies of land deeds that William and a John Parker transacted in 1797. I am interested in the Bible that you mentioned. Who has it? Where? Thomas Barton Parker moved with his family to Walker County, now Cullman County, Alabama in 1845. Mary House Parker, his mother, was with them at the time, and she later lived with her daughter Mary Parker Cason until her death in 1876. Thank you for your reply. I will look at the Roots website with great interest. God Bless You, James Parker Hueytown, Alabama

He came to SC first and then she followed from Ireland (don't know where in Ireland) with three daughters. She was born abt 1791, died Oct. 01, 1823 and is buried in Adnah cemetery in York, SC. I have info on their descendants but they don't include a Richard. There was also a Moses LATHAM in York, SC around the same time period. Diane in Wi mummer2@aol.com
