I was noticing a few days ago that it seemed to be a VERY long time between James and William Newton, but I was tired and didn't take the time to do the math. My line has William Newton being born when James is... let's see... 62 years old! Whoa... Yeah, I think you are right, Pam. Let's share notes? God Bless, Brandon

Maybe there was more than one William Newton.

That is all I could get. I don't know if you've come up with anything else since you posted this, but MY James Miskelly had 3 sons, William Newton, John, and James, Jr. (There is a John Miskelly listed on the 1860 census in York Co., I THINK. I know I saw it a few minutes before I came up with your post.) Anyway, William Newton is the line I follow. He had 6 kids, 3 boys and 3 girls with "Eliza"... no last name yet. Samuel is the son I am related to and the only one I have any descendants of at this time. He had 6 kids too, 3 boys and 3 girls. ... You know what...? Why don't I give you the link where I found all this information? A guy named Steven Rutherford from Tippah Co, MS, did an EXCELLENT job. Please reply and let me know if you find that this is the same James Miskelly, as I am eager to hear what you have. As you will see, my line of Miskelly's moved to Tippah Co, MS, in ! North Mississippi. That is where my grandparents, an uncle, and several cousins still live. Another uncle lives in Alabama, and my mom and dad married and moved to Biloxi, MS. In the 1850 census they are listed with four children;Eliza J; Frances Mary; Commadore Perry, and an infant daughter listed as being 1/12 year old. Now the census was taken August 17,1850. My Great grandmother was Elizabeth Ann Meeks b.1877 d. 1948 married to Edward Worth Joy. Known relatives are Samuel, R.R Meek, John S., Mary Lousie, Minerva L., Frances A., and John Baxter, So far I have not been able to connect what relationship to each other they are. Have listings of spouces for each. Any help with the Meeks or the Joy (Elizabeth's son Thomas Henry, my grandfather, added the e to Joy) will be greatly appreciated. I have hit a Brick wall.
I have a Robert H. Fulwood in my records. He had a son R. H. Fulwood (according to his estate papers). Would this be the family you are seeking? These lived in the Fort Mill area. Robert H. I have a partial listing of the Bullock's Creek Graveyard on the York County GenWeb page. The Carroll's buried there are: CARROLL, Amelia McNeel, Dec. 27, 1854-June 5, 1885 CARROLL, John L., Infant, Apr. 28, 1894-May 31, 1894 CARROLL, J.W., Nov. 16, 1833-Nov. 23, 1904 CARROLL, Marther Inman, Nov. 24, 1852-June 27, 1921
Hello: My Carrolls all began with Joseph Elias Carroll, born 1699 in Tyrone, Northern Ireland. They came to Pennsylvania and then on to York, South Carolina. Joseph's son, Thomas and then Matthew are my Carrolls in South Carolina. Good to hear from you. Patti

I would really like to know about the Presbyterian church there. Patti Carlton Houston Hi Patti, I have a bunch of CARROLL ancestors from York, County and RockHill, SC. Some are buried in Laurelwood cemetery, some in Adnah cemetery and some in Beth Shiloh cemetery, don't know about Bullock's Creek yet. I have CARROLL relatives still living in the area. My CARROLL's came down from Hamilton A. Carroll, Sr. and then his son Charles Carroll. This is from his second wife Susan McDaniels. Hamilton Sr. also had Hamilton, Jr. from his first wife , Judith Latham. Some of those descendants are still living in the York County area. Do you have any names on your Carroll's? Diane in Wi.
A very short history of the church, along with a link to a virtual tour of the cemetery is located at: http://www.pcanet.org/history/churches/southcarolina.html The website states that churches in bold print (Bullock Creek is in bold print) indicates that the center has "documents and other historical materials." You should be able to write them to inquire whether the info might be available by mail. The Chester District Genealogical Society has a publication "Roster of Cemetery and Historical Sketch of Bullock Creek Church" for sale for $15. Here is the link to their website: http://www.rootsweb.com/~scchest2/scchesterinfo.html I found both of these using http://www.google.com/ and using the search words "Bullock Creek Church" (without the quotation marks). I have no affiliation with the church or either website. I did see other sites when I searched Google, but don't have time to go through them all. You may want to try it and see what you can find.
