James McCord DAWSON, possibly son of Isaac Dawson and Elizabeth McCord) married two NICHOLS wives. The first is unknown and they had at least two sons - Lee Mitchel DAWSON and James M DAWSON. James McCord DAWSON then married Missina NICHOLS and had many more children. Their first son was said to be born in York South Carolina. Would love more information on this family Thanks Doris Mayer Reece
In need of help with a Samuel Lambert/Lambeth who was in York Co. at least by 1780s. His children were about grown by then, but later census records indicate they may have been born in Maryland. He married a Margaret (maiden name unknown) Duff Benson or Benson Duff. She had sons, George Duff and John Benson prior to marriage to Samuel. Do not when or where they married, but the two sons of Margaret were apparently in York Co., when she died ca 1825. Samuel's estate had been settled earlier. He is buried in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cem. Son of Samuel, John Lambeth was still in York Co. in 1846, but cannot be found after that. It is thought he has died, as a Mary Lambeth age 76 is living with a Levi Lambeth (son of John Lambeth) on the 1850 census. It is though her maiden name was Wood. Another son of John's, a Samuel Lambeth married Sophia Hammond, and they lived in Lancaster Co. He died in 1892 and she in 1893. It is thought in some she was related to the Mobleys of that county. Any help appreciated. Sara.
This is my first posting to this list. The York surnames that I am interested in learning more about are: HUTCHI(N)SON BAXTER BLACKSTOCK My GreatGreat Grandfather John Hutchinson was mostly likely born in York around 1790. Debra (Hutchinson) Lowe
