    3. Linda, No one has ever done a proper cemetery list of Laurelwood cemetery. When I say proper I mean one that would be useful to genealogists. It is a city-owned cemetery with a keeper who does maintain records but they only show which row, number etc. and he has records showing who the owner of the lots happen to be (again, by location). There are no lots available for sale, all having been purchased. I saw a listing in the York County Library local history room but it was not indexed. It was a computer generated listing of names by location in the cemetery. If anyone has ever done an alphabetical listing of Laurelwood (other than the names of the Civil War veterans buried there) I certainly would like to know about it and I am sure there are others who would be much interested. 3. The Barron information that I have shows a copy of a will of J. Leroy Barron leaving, among others, to son In Alexander A. Barron, who lived at the "old house place". Profit from cultivation of this land for 1874 would go one-half to the estate and one half to Alexander A. Barron. In 1876 his son Alexander A. Akin should pay the estate in the sum of eight hundred dollars. J. Leroy knew he only had a short time to live and died 17 days after the writing of the will. His wife at time of his death was Mary Susan Wallace. His first wife was Violet Amanda Barnett. Alexander Archibald was the son of wife number one. I have some more on this Alexande but he stayed in South Carolina. Give me some of your other names to look for and I will try to check them out. Mary E. 3. The only information I have on an Alexander Barron is one who lived in York County born May 26, 1851 died June 23, 1909, married Mary Robert Partlow Nove. 4, 1873 who was born Sept. 27, 1855 died July 2, 1930. I have eight children listed. Alexander's parents were J. Leroy Barron and Violet Amanda Barnett. I may have more information in my many boxes of materials but I haven't gotten them out yet - just the books that I have collected. Mary E. 3. Cecil, My first day of retirement! Slept until 8, ate breakfast and am at the computer now with 161 messages to read. James A. Barron, 1878- 1939 of Chester, South Carolina. I bought the book in 1987 from John I. Barron, 5 Broad Street, York, SC 29745. I don't know if he is still there or not, but they could possibly have a book left. At the time he had found seven. I just read his note to me. He had an added index done by Ann McCartney. If you can't find the book, I'll try to send you information you want. Just send me some names and dates. As I stated earlier, the book is around 300 pages long and the index doesn't cover every name. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you. Mary E.
