Nona, Did your NESMITH family by any chance emigrate from Williamsburg Co, SC to Lowndes County or another south Alabama County? My NORTONS were from Williamsburg and Georgetown and had friends named NESMITH. One of the NESMITH sons fought in the WBTS (war between the states...or if you wish, the American Civil War) from that state. I have the text of a letter written by my great grandfather to his father which mentions the NESMITH man. So if you think these might be yours, please let me know.
