Mr.McKnight, Thanks for the reply, I am searching for information on an ancestor,George Whitefield Ladson,b 1830-1864.His Liberty Co.Ga.obit states"died in Columbia on July 4,1864,much lamented by white and black,and was buried in Elmwood Cemetery. Ladson Chapel,erected in Columbia for a congregation of intelligent,prosperous Negroes,was named in his honor".He was a graduate from Columbia Theological Seminary and was a Presbyterian.If he has a grave marker of any kind I would like to visit with my camera.
