    3. When I spoke to Ancestry.com rep on the phone and told him I did not want to auto-renew my subscription, I was told they did not need my permission. I said that I could always cancel the credit card they had on file for me. He stated that they had six credit card numbers on file and he could use any of them he so choose. Fortunately I have a son who is an attorney and we are watching the credit card billings very closely. At any rate I do not choose to continue doing business with any company with that arrogant attitude and encourage others to think twice before allowing any charge to your credit card that "auto renews" when the subscription is up. mawgreen wrote: > Note to BLRIC@aol.com > I have had some problems with Ancestry and have known > of several more who have had problems with Ancestry. > I don't know is their problem is deliberate or if > they don't have enough staff to handle subscriptions, > etc. This has been going on for two or three years > to my knowledge. 3. For all genealogy researchers... For many reasons I will not list here, the better practice: Do not use any credit card for any purchase from anyone on the internet. Do not use check by phone. Do not use business or personal checks. Make all payments by postal money order. There is no recurrent billing, no interest charges, no sales or exchanges of your personal financial information plus the added bonuses of peace of mind, more hours of good sleep, savings of millions of dollars in taxpayer dollars and many more hours to do serious genealogy research tracing those elusive ancestors rather than wasting time fighting the fraudulent practices of these companies. Happy hunting!! -----Original Message----- From: Bob F.
