Well, What I can tell you is that I have an Ambrose Ray m. to Mary Garrett. I don't have an info on Ambrose, but I do have info on Mary: B. 2/7/18/01 in Laurens Co (Dist 96) SC D. 5/24/1853 in Alcorn, Tippah Co., MS M. 2/2/1819 Both Mary and Ray are burried in the Garret/Ray cemetery in Tippah Co., MS. I may have some more info on him that I need to dig out. The older Ambrose Ray married Elizabeth Holcombe, born 1748 and died 11 March 1831. Ambrose (born ca 1740, 1798) moved first to GA where he fought in theRev. War with the GA Troops for which he received a land grant. He is buried at Padgett's Creek Baptist Church, Union, SC. His will did not mention the younger Ambrose.
