I am still searching for any and all tidbits of information on the BRIGGS family who, in the late 1700s, lived in the little triangle where Spartanburg, Union and Laurens Counties connect. The progenitor of all these BRIGGS' seems to have been John who died in 96 District in 1783 and he was almost certainly a descendant of the Surry County, Virginia BRIGGS family.
