I'm trying to verify for sure who the parents of John Williams are, who was born Oct. 1791 in NC or SC, and died in Hancock Co., IL in 1867. I thought his parents were John Williams, b. 1762, and Margaret McCorkle, b. 1768 and married in Mecklenberg Co., NC. Now another researcher has said the 1791 John's father was Nathan Williams of Charleston, SC. Any help?
