Petition 1812 No. 87 The Petition of the Citizens of Spartanburg and Union Districts whoez names are hereunto subscribed To the honorable the speaker and House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina Humbly Showeth Your petitioners complaining of one act passed in General Assembly in December in the year of our Lord 1811 An act to repeal all acts and clauses of acts requiring the owners of mill dams on Tyger River to keep them open for the passage of Fish up the said River Your Petitioners think it will require but little patriotism and Promptitude to repeal said act and let the fish pass up Tyger River as usual as is in the Just Rights of every citizen to receive what Blessing divine providence did Intend them to receive from the Fish having a free passage up said Tyger River Your petitioners having the fullest confidence in the honorable members-doth think they will not hesitate to repeal the above recited act and in Duty Bound will pray 9th November 1812 1.
