    3. Hello, I am new to the list, this is the family I am looking for: Joseph A. Garner, Born 1840 apparently in Union County from all that we have found. Known right now one brother William Manly Garner Born: July 4, 1835 Union County, and one other sister Peggy Garner, (possiable nick name) also born in Union County. These three children William , Joseph and Peggy have shown up on census reports as living in the house of Thomas Owensby's family in Union County, and think that his wife may also be related to these three children, as taking them in like they did in the 1850's. We were assuming that there parents were killed in the civil war to be alone at such young ages and in the home of someone else. Joseph A. Garner married Nancy Sparks in Union County they farmed in the Draytonville area, Peggy married Ransom L Kirby from the same area, and lived some period of time in the Spartanburg area, then lived in Union County afterwards. William married in Smith County, Texas after they left Union County in the mid 1870's as they are on land and county rolls here at this time. Now we are finding letters from Star Farms in Union County dated 1900, from William's niece Lular Sparks, daughter of Polly Garner, stating in her letter to William that her mother , your sister died 2 years ago, and she had been trying to reach him prior to this. Also I am looking for Enoch Garner of Union County, South Carolina. Brenda bmcomppton@juno.com
