<PRE>Is any one interested in Sparks and their related families? I have some good census(1860) data that I could post if there is any interest. Sylvia Rhodes
Sylvia, My ggrmo was Annie Laura Garner, b 04 June 1866 SC; her father was Joseph A. Garner, br abt 1840, SC ? and her mother was Nancy Sparks, (Garner) br abt 1846, SC ?. Nancy Sparks' father was Shelton Sparks, br abt 1812, Union Co, SC. Nancy's mother was Rebecca Stotts (Sparks), br about 1809, Unk. The census data you have would no doubt involve these families since they were known to be in and around Union Co. in 1860. I would be very appreciative for any information you can send me on the Sparks, Garner, Stotts and Kirby families. The first time I have a record of my grandmother Annie Mae Green is on a Union County, SC 1910 census and she is 5 years old and they live on Cottage Ave. My grandmother died when my father was young so we have no knowledge of her line. My father found around 80 photographs a few months ago apparently that were my grandmothers. Interestingly enough she wrote on the back of some. There is a Mertia Garner who it looks had a younger brother. It looks to me like this Mertia may only have one leg, but in one other photo (when she is older) she is standing but with white tights on and has the appearance of two legs. Annie Mae's father was Joseph Green(e) and mother was Hattie Horn. Maybe your Annie Laura Garner is the grandmother (or elderly mother) of Mertia. Can you cancel that idea out? Joseph worked at the knitting mill.
