Hi, First time posting on the list, been lurking for a while. Am researching my Union ancestors on the Wallace side. William Wallace and Jennett Winter were my 4th great grand parents. They probably came to Union in late 1700's or early 1800's. I'm stymied on who their ancestors were or where they came from. Jennett is mentioned in "The Narrative History of Union County" by Allan Charles as owning 1288 acres in 1865. William and Jennett's daughter Caroline married Benjamin Herndon Rice. Their daughter Medora married William Wallace Duncan of Spartanburg. Their son Thomas Cary Duncan married Francis Adler Merriman and their daughter Medora Duncan was my grandmother.
