With a Channel pilot on board they had mistaken the Mull of Galloway light for the Copeland and ran ashore on the east side of Luce Bay." He then tells of a gift from a wreck survivor: "...a tall New Englander called Stetson gave me a book. "Two Years Before the Mast" by R HDana.
