How can I find more information on a Robert Wallace, Jr who was a "writer to ye Signet" in 1728? David Coltrane, age 18, was apprenticed to him. Was Robert in Edinburgh at that point in time? My documented evidence indicates that David b. in Wigtownshire left for Colonies before 1738. I am trying to account for this portion of his life. Any ideas?
