Hello, Bonnie, Thank you for writing. There are certainly a lot of Wallaces in Wigtownshire. And to make things even more difficult it seems to me that at least half of them are named either John or James. So, my connection is John Wallace and Elizabeth Campble (or Campbell) giving us James b. 1805, and after he married Ann Wright in 1858, they had a son John born in 1859 who married Sarah Simons and then everyone moved to Canada. John/James/John and their wives are all either from Portpatrick or Stoneykirk. I haven't been able to go further back than John and Elizabeth so far, but I'm still new at this. Each had brother and sisters, and most likely everyone is connected at some point, but I haven't run into your family yet. I'll keep working my way back, and someday, perhaps we'll find a common ancestor. Agnes Neilson), Michael Wallace b. perthshire but d. abt 1770 New Luce (m Janet Ogilvie(y)) Most of these marriages took place in New Luce, Old Luce, or Inch.
