Hello Alan - thank you for the extra information, it really does help, although I have seen this map at the Drummore information centre, on my first visit to Wigtownshire in 2001. The volunteer there put me in touch with another historian to whom I wrote and who replied with information about the William Kelton who married into the local McCrone family. He was the brother of my great grandfather John Kelton who moved to Glasgow around 1880s (there in the 1881 census) The research continues, thanks to all the hints and links from this list! Sue 1. It is on display in the Information Centre in Drummore which has limited opening hours and is manned by volunteers. I'm afraid I don't know if it has an email address nor who the current committee are. In the summer I plan to visit the Info Centre and offer to record the details in some type of list if that has not already been done. A photographic record of the map appears on the Facebook site 'I Love Drummore' - it is shown under 'Photos' and is dated Sept 28 2012. I had a look at it and it confirms your info - Kelton is shown at Logan Mill from 1841 to 1890. I couldn't see the Kelton name in any other farms. Prior to 1841 the mill was tenanted by Beggs and from 1890 by the Logan Estate who presumably managed it themselves. Hope this helps Alan > > End of SCT-WIGTOWNSHIRE Digest, Vol 8, Issue 56 ***********************************************
